CONTINUOUS REFORM PROCESS

The Turkish government has been focusing reforms on skilled labor, innovative manufacturing, sustainable growth, sustainable environment and international development cooperation.

A comprehensive reform process was initiated in the early 2000s and is still ongoing today. Major reforms made between 2001-2021 are shown in the image below.

In 2002, the average number of days to start a business was 38, and today, as part of the reform process, that number has dropped to seven.

Thanks to extensive reforms over the past 18 years, the number of restrictions on foreign investors in Turkey is now well below the OECD average.

Thanks to recent improvements to business regulations, Turkey has made significant progress in the World Bank's Doing Business rankings, jumping to 33rd place out of 190 comparison countries.
